Ready, Get Set, GO!

I am proud to blog that I got up this morning and did a 1 mile walk with Leslie Sansone, I just love that woman. I took my lunch, pre-planned, cooked, weighed and measured. I walked the stairs ten times at work (ouchie mamma!) and then hit up Curves this evening. It is a strong start to the new year.

I was going to just do my Walk away the Pounds tape but I had the energy and needed the burn. It felt good, very good!

I was doing a little research last night and was blown away when I found out that I had hiked, biked and walked 479 miles last year! WOW! Of course, that does not include everyday walking, that was simply me on a mission to exercise. I was dumbfounded that I was capable of so much. The crazy thing, I quit working out mid September, imagine what I could have done if I had not quit. Well, that is water under the bridge. One think I know for sure, it motivated me to get up and move more than you can imagine!

My goal is to hit 600 miles in 2011, that is only 50 miles month... I can do this! Will you join me for the adventure?

  3. Wow, you are amazing! You will for sure hit your goal by the end of next year. I am going to ease back into exercise starting this week so I am not making any 'goals' yet but you will def. be an inspiration for me!

  4. What a great start to the new year! Woo hoo!

Its great to keep track of those miles because they add up quicker than you think! I was looking at my stats for running... only with outdoor running (using the mi coach and gps on my phone) I ran 40 km in Oct, Nov and December. I couldn't believe it... I usually only run 2-5 km at a time so that sucker really adds up.

I bet if you keep track in 2011 you'll impress yourself and all of us!!

  6. Do you frequently use WATP videos? I have multiple and see she has some On Demand but I'm kind of stubborn and think its not a good enough workout so I don't stick with it. I feel like I should be one of these soccer moms humping it at a gym, even though if I tried I'd keel over and die at this point. I'm sure if I did them faithfully I'd see improvement.

Unfortunately I've been sick for over a month with pneumonia/asthma but since I'm a bit stronger maybe I can try a 1-mile walk with LS adjusting the intensity as needed. Your post may have just motivated me to get my butt moving, even if ever so slightly.

Any other videos you could recommend? I was not a fan of the ones with the stretch band or the belt thingy.

  7. Super (((hugs))) coming ur way! I know the feeling totally about the weight thing. I had bariatic surgery a year ago (10/09). I lost 105 pounds and then hit a plateau...a large one! Over the holidays I gained 9 pounds back. I picked myself up, dusted off my knees and have lost that weight once again. Good luck!

  12. What the Bible says about Fat People

First of all, it is important to understand that God really likes fat. So I suppose he likes fat people, too. (He's probably overweight himself.)

All the fat is the Lord's. -- Leviticus 3:16

Even God's sword is fat (and bloody).

The sword of the LORD is filled with blood, it is made fat with fatness. -- Isaiah 34:6

God even likes fat animals. He plans to feed people to to them to make them nice and fat.

Thus saith the Lord GOD; Speak unto every feathered fowl, and to every beast of the field ... Ye shall eat the flesh of the mighty, and drink the blood of the princes of the earth ... And ye shall eat fat till ye be full, and drink blood till ye be drunken, of my sacrifice which I have sacrificed for you. -- Ezekiel 39:17-19

God makes the diligent fat. (Lazy people are always skinny.)

The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat. -- Proverbs 13:4

God makes liberals fat, too. (I guess religious liberals should be the fattest of all.)

The liberal soul shall be made fat. -- Proverbs 11:25

If you put your trust in God, he will make you fat.

He that putteth his trust in the LORD shall be made fat. -- Proverbs 28:25

Being fat is is sure sign of righteousnous in the eyes of God.

The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree ... they shall be fat and flourishing. -- Psalm 92:12-14

  13. Emotional eating is a bunch of Oprah BS. If want to get all emotional eat a Subway veggie sub. You are eating nearly 5000 calories a day to maintain your weight of 330 pounds. It would take 10 feet of Subway veggie subs to equal 5000 calories.

You CHOOSE to eat high calorie foods. You are no different that all the other fatlings 73% of Americans are fat or obese. You are merely a glutton. You would be wise to admit it.

A woman needs 2000 calories a day to maintain 140 pounds.
